Simplicity D0882 Dress - View A

I fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw it. It has two skirt variations and two bodice variations. I love all the views but this time I went with view A. Because of the fabric I used, I skipped the lining, which made it a really quick sew. I plan on wearing this to an afternoon wedding event next Saturday. I'm tempted to go ahead and make a second version before putting the pattern away. I have the same fabric in a different color and I think it would also look great with this pattern.
I couldn't find this pattern on the Simplicity website and there aren't many reviews on it online, which is quite surprising because it really is a great pattern. The only problem I had during construction was my fault - I attached the invisible zipper the wrong way on one side. I hope to see other sewists' versions soon.
I love the v-neckline at the back. My fabric is so busy it's hard to see the pattern details. I tried to zoom in the picture.
Happy Mother's day to all the moms in the sewing community. You guys rock! Have a wonderful week and happy sewing!!

  4. The seaming at the shoulders is very nice, and I always like a V neck at the back. This one is especially nice because it’s not too low. Very pretty and just right for a wedding!

  5. Your dress is beautiful! It fits perfectly and the fabric is beautiful!!

Your pattern is Simplicity 8594. The '0' number is usually a display number. I know with B/M/V, both numbers are usually listed on the instruction sheet.

Hopefully you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

    1. Omg, I had no idea. No wonder I couldn't find it. Thanks a lot for letting me know. I've found it now on the website https://www.simplicity.com/simplicity-pattern-8594-misses-and-petites-dresses/S8594.html.

      Thank you Nakisha.

  6. That's a lovely dress! I think that the pattern tissue might have the pattern number on it. The envelope appears to have a promotional display number.

    1. I just realized that. I didn't know they had different numbers for promotional displays. You learn something everyday.

      Thank you, Rose.

  8. I didn't know about the promotional numbers either!!! What a pretty dress this has turned out to be - and so wearable with the raglan sleeves in the hot weather. Yes, you must make another, I can see this also in a classic plain fabric.

    1. That makes me feel better if you didn’t know about it either 🙂. Yes, this would look great in plain fabric, too. And the pattern design would show more. Thanks Sarah.
