B6060 Skirt & M2818 Top

I had planned on wearing this outfit to a wedding I attended last Saturday,  but unfortunately I couldn't get the skirt done on time. I still had to attach the lining and do the hem. I used B6060 peplum skirt [View D], which is a very simple pattern. I cut size 12 but ended up grading it down to a 10. The fabric is medium weight and it frayed a lot; I'm so glad to be done with it. However, I really love the fabric design and quality; I think it gave the finished garments a classy look. Both the top and skirt are fully lined.
For the top I used M2818, which I made in black before. This time I made view C but I closed the v-shaped edges at the bottom. I fell in love with this top pattern when I made it before, and I wish I'd made more versions sooner. I found some pretty gold buttons at JoAnn that went really well with the fabric. This top covers the peplum a bit, but the great thing is that I can also wear the skirt with a different top.
Anyway, I ended up wearing a RTW dress to the wedding that I bought from Ross. The fabric has a very pretty design and worked so well as a backup outfit.
Of course I've to show you the bride's dress! It was pure perfection!
Happy sewing everyone!

  5. OH...this fabric is everything!

I love how the seam lines of the top and the skirt align. These two patterns just belong together!

If you don't have a special occasion in the near future, you'll create one just by wearing this outfit!

    1. Welcome to blogger, Anduza! Unfortunately I don't have anymore of this fabric. My co-worker brought it from China and there was only enough to make this outfit. Perhaps with a different type of fabric.
