Indonesia Fashion Week 2017

Indonesia fashion week was held earlier this month in Jakarta. It's always so interesting to see what designers around the world come up with each year. I love eastern styles - the fabrics are so amazing and the outfits always look so feminine and elegant. They showcased a lot of beautiful pieces this year.

I love the combination of the ethnic print and the chiffon on the above dress.

Wow! It must have taken forever to attach the stones to the fabric. Lots of great detail on the whole outfit.

Have a wonderful week and happy sewing!

  3. These are lovely, and it is so refreshing to see the Indonesian fashion drawing on it's cultural roots and traditional textiles and costume ideas.

    1. I agree. I like it better when they use their own textiles. It makes the garments more authentic.

  4. Those are really lovely, thank you so much for sharing. I love how the first dress has a matching umbrella. If only we could make accessories like that in sewing! :)
