Two S1364 Tops

I really love Jiffy patterns - they are so quick to sew but they make great additions to my wardrobe. I bought this pattern at the 99 cents sale at JoAnn and I knew it would be great for making tops to wear to work. I made this green one first and I really like it but the length is a bit short for my liking. So when I made a second one I lengthened the pattern a little.

I've worn both tops so many times already, and they go well even with jeans. The pattern comes with just three pieces so you don't even need the directions.

What I also like about this pattern is that it goes well with just about any type of fabric.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Happy Sewing!

Working On Another Peplum Dress

I'm so excited about my current project - I'm working on another peplum dress. The last one I made was for my birthday back in 2014 (pictured above). I'm using a different pattern this time and I have an amazing fabric that my aunt sent me from Africa. I'm totally loving African print these days.

BTW, that's DH in the picture. We celebrated our 9 year anniversary last Sunday. It felt so great taking family pics wearing a self-made dress. I really love peplum dresses so that was definitely a great project.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Happy Sewing!

African Print Dress

OMG! I know, I've been silent for so long! I've just been really busy but I've been sewing here and there. I made a couple of outfits that I'm going to share in the next several weeks. I can't wait to catch up with what everybody's been making.

So, my sister-in-law sent me this beautiful fabric from Africa...I think it's originally from Mozambique. It's 100% cotton so I definitely had to shrink it all the way before attempting to make anything out of it. I absolutely love the color!

I used Simplicity 1883 - it's a great, simple pattern for a summer dress.

Hope you all have a wonderful 2016!
