Simplicity (New Look) 6053 Skirt - View A

Front view of skirt

I completed view A of Simplicity 6053. This was a very simple pattern and the instructions were easy to follow. The only change I made was skipping the side vent.

Side view of the skirt.

I'll definitely be making more of these; in fact, I think I may just make all the views on this pattern. I really like view C too.

  6. Great collections of skirts. I'm sure you will wear them all well. The red one looks great, especially with that top. I love sewing skirts. They are very satisfying to sew.

  8. Hi, beautiful finish. I bought this pattern too and I was wondering if I made a mistake in cutting--I pinned it on the right side and cut it. Are you supposed to pin it on the wrong side? I wasn't sure after re-reading the directions. Thank you :)

    1. Yes, you pin it to the wrong side. You have to fold the fabric right sides together and then lay the pattern pieces. I hope you'll give it another try; it is a great, simple pattern.
