What I've learned │ Stay Stitching is Important

I absolutely ignored the first step of my current project's instructions - stay stitching! It made no sense to me. Why would I waste time stitching a single layer of fabric? After stitching together the front yoke and back, I noticed that the shoulder seams were not correctly aligned. After doing some research, I found out that stay stitching is a technique used to make sure that the fabric does not stretch out of shape. The fabric that I'm using actually contains 7% spandex, which makes it stretchy. So, with stay stitching, you stitch a single layer of fabric, preferably right after cutting it, along curves.

Sewing....learning.....and more sewing!
